The National Minimum Wage will increase from 1 April 2024.

The impact on you and your staff
You will need to ensure that all staff members are paid the increased minimum wage for their age group by this date.

How much is the increase?
See below for details of the updated Minimum Wages to take effect from 1 April 2024.

    From 1 April 2024, workers aged 21 and over will be entitled to the National Living Wage.

     *Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either:

    • Aged under 19.
    • Aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.

    Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage for their age if they both:

    • Are aged 19 or over.
    • Have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.

    What you need to do

    By law, you will need to ensure that the correct wages are being paid by you to your staff, complying with the new minimum amount. If you are already paying above the new minimum amount you aren’t required to take any action.

    We advise you to inform your staff of the increases to their wages.
