A quick heads up for business owners and fellow advisers.
I recently worked through an issue where a client had not completed their PSC identity verification — and it was easy to see why.
The email reminder to confirm PSC identity looks almost identical to the one reminding you to confirm officer identity.
It’s very easy to assume it’s just another duplicate reminder and ignore it.
In this case, that’s exactly what happened.
For clarity:
If you receive the PSC verification email, it directs you to an online form here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/provide-psc-verification
You sign in with your GOV.UK One Login, enter:
- The company number
- The PSC’s personal code
And complete the verification online.
Simple — once you realise it’s a separate requirement.
With the increased focus from Companies House on transparency and identity verification, these processes are only going to become more important.
If you’re unsure whether you’ve completed both officer and PSC verification, it’s worth double-checking.
Sometimes compliance issues aren’t complex — they’re just hidden in plain sight.
