What Yoga Can Teach Us About Business (7 Simple Ideas) – Our director, Craig, offers some examples:
Many of you probably know I’m a qualified yoga teacher. The longer I practise yoga, the more I realise the lessons don’t stay on the mat — they show up in business and life too. Here are seven parallels that keep showing up for me:
🧘 1. Flexibility in your body = flexibility in your business model
Just as your muscles need space to adapt, your business does too. Stiff thinking leads to stuck outcomes.
🌬️ 2. Breathwork during stress = breathwork during tax stress
If you can breathe through a tough pose, you can breathe through a tough time. Calm physiology = clearer decisions.
⚖️ 3. “Find your balance” as a business metaphor
Balance isn’t static — it’s constant micro-corrections. The same applies to your workload, teams, and priorities.
🌱 4. Being grounded = clarity in decision-making
When you’re centred, you’re smarter. Grounding practices help cut through noise and see what actually matters. Priorities.
🔁 5. Consistency > complexity
Yoga rewards showing up, not showing off. Business does too. Simple systems implemented daily outperform complicated plans that are never executed. Keep it simple and consistent.
📏 6. Correcting posture = correcting financial structures
Sometimes it takes a small adjustment to prevent long-term strain. The same applies to cash flow, pricing, and processes.
🧘♂️ 7. “Returning to the mat” = staying committed to systems
Progress comes from returning to the mat, the KPI dashboard, the workflow, the routine.
If yoga teaches anything, it’s that growth happens through awareness, repetition, and alignment. Business and life are no different.
I’d love to hear—what practice (yoga or otherwise) influences how you run your business?
