It’s a small town. Very rustic. I stayed at the Hostel there with my gf a few years ago. It was fun. We went cross country skiing at one of the local places. That was a LOT of fun. I also think there is a ski luge.

all parts are good–the town is so small that the all the lodging, restaurants, etc are on one main road right thru town….my favorite hotel is Art Devlins Olympic Motor lnn(the name sounds scary but trust me its great) its the cheapest rooms in town (about $70 night) and you have amazing mountain views from your room(if you decide to stay here, ask for one with mountain views just to be safe but almost all do)..from there you could walk to everything in town…check out the hockey rink and the rest of the olympic sites, eat at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, get a drink at a place called The Cottage–right on mirror lake), you may be able to take a gondola ride at Whiteface Mountain or ski there if you ski, go on a short hike, also Saranac Lake about 8 miles away maybe worth a short drive to check out
