What do you need to pack for your spiritual journey to be successful?

To me, spirituality is a process of discovery. I think that bringing spirituality into your life is like packing for an adventure. And when you pack for an adventure, you need to pack certain things. What do you pack into your backpack for your own spiritual journey to be successful?

I think I’ll pack, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, and gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance, and faith. Against these things, there is no law. Then I would shod myself with the gospel of peace, put on the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, having my loins girded about with the truth, pick up the shield of faith, and above all, be sure to sharpen and bring the sword of the Spirit.

It does not matter what you pack if you don’t have what it takes.

A complete and honest look at myself. What I am, what I show to the world, show to the world should be one and the same thing, if I am to be totally honest and start this journey. an open mind to things I see, to be able to adjust to new truths, and to accept them. There are people who will say, oh this is wrong this is right. And they lecture on facts and what one should do, but that advise is only for others not them! So until or unless you can do you should not preach. And when you do, you won’t need to preach cause, people will either learn from your example or not, no matter how much you preach them. So just concentrate on who you are, or weather you are happy with it or not, and where you want go. You should be brave enough to face your worst side as well as recognize the good points. When you can accept yourself as your are you will be able to accept others as they are! You won’t need to change them, just adjust yourself with them accordingly, without judgment or criticism.

You don’t need to pack anything; you already come equipped with everything you’ll need for your journey, although it helps to have a willingness to see that’s true. Best wishes for your journey!

Traits of discernment, wisdom and authentic Love.

In light of authentic Love, nothing can be hidden from discovery. Discernment and wisdom are “flashlights” of sorts to the path on journey being seen more clearly and truth being revealed.

an open heart – open to receiving and giving what may be necessary in the journey….everything else should fall naturally into place if the heart is willing.
I am going to add this to lighten the mood a little – lol – I once did a spiritual day trek…..don’t forget plenty of water! :)

The Spirituality is a dedication of mind, will, and feeling of an individual to the query of the Absolutely Reality.
Philosophically, specialization in the field of spirituality is no different from achieving excellence in any other area of Art and Science. Accordingly, as stated by the questioner, spirituality is a process of discovery and thus bringing spirituality in to life is like packing for an adventure. It would be unrealistic to expect to expect that every one would become a Sage and renounce violence, just as all are mentally equipped to be Scientists,Artists,Philosophers or Politicians. In my view, dedication of mind, will and felling of an individual query of Absolute Reality of your object of problems in the cases of Science etc.For a successful journey of spirituality, one should have intellectually strong enough to uphold his/her moral values and meet the challenges of changing times. Greeting to the questioner for important teaching question for the society.

If you are following the right path, all you need is the right books, a teacher, and group of like-minded people, who are aspiring for the same goal.

All I would need to pack would be trust…trust in my Soul, that it knows what is best, trust that it is in charge of the journey, trust that I will be safe and that the right thing is always happening for my greater learning experience and for the learning of those in my life.
