"We are all born as philosophers, we only cease to be one when we think we are right, but I'm probably wrong."
I'm into philosophy as a hobby, and to me it could be the act of opening your mind to limitless possibilities, like asking questions without the need for answers. To the pessimist, this could be seen as asking questions that don't need to be asked. To the optimist, it may be viewed as the ultimate way of finding out what the human mind has to offer, without the need to actually identify its boundaries. I think you have the makings to be a great philosopher, you are asking how to fully understand a subject that will probably never be fully understood, there could always be a new page to write. This all seems ironic that I'm telling you this through a question & answer forum. LOL. Maybe you don't need an answer, just keep asking questions and you could be on the right track!

Most significant human endeavors have a philosophical foundation. Politics, science, religion, etc. Even the actions of individual people are often influenced by their personal philosophical outlooks.

Recognizing this, and understanding its importance, is a significant part of becoming an educated person.
